I bought the Bullet R1 in 2018 to use for competition roasting. At the time I was considering the Ikawa, the Stronghold and the Bullet, and out of the three the Bullet seemed to me the strongest in terms of innovation and the one most similar to a commercial roaster in terms of capabilities and versatility. After roasting two championship winning coffees on the Bullet I feel qualified to claim that it is on par with larger commercial machines in terms of the quality it is able to produce.

The Bullet R1 has been amazing to roast on for the past 3 years. The fact that it simply plugs into a 110V socket and can produce consistent results is amazing! You guys at Aillio are also constantly looking for user feedback which has greatly improved the software and firmware over the years while incorporating requests from us users which has been amazing!

I think one of the deciding factors for us choosing the Aillio Bullet and being in Brooklyn was the giant convenience of it. Everything is centered around space and room when you are living in Brooklyn. And how little there is. The transportability, the small carbon footprint it leaves behind, and the size were big deciding factors in choosing the Bullet. Also important to note was the ability to produce amazing coffee on it. The control and ability to dial in a roast how you like was a big factor. The Bullet has propelled our company to grow to a larger scale and needing a larger commercial roaster!

Eleven Speed Coffee was started in the Fall of 2017 using Bullet #726 – an exceptionally robust, easy to use and learn on roaster. We typically roast light (Scandinavian style) 45 -70 seconds into first crack, the Bullet is a superstar at this roast level. My company has grown well to the point of roasting 120kgs a week – a bit much time wise, but the machine powers through well. I have had a few issues, which honestly are to be expected with my use, all issues have been handled and resolved well. I have upgraded to V2 and replaced the drum motor.
